The Church at 36 Blink O' Forth
Every Thursday evening from 7pm (usually finishing around 9pm, but with the freedom for folks to come and go as they require)
According to the Bible, the church is the body of Christ—that is, all those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 12:13). God designed the church to be a group of people. The definition of a "church" as a separate building specifically for worship would have been foreign to the early believers, as they met in homes. When a building was mentioned in the New Testament, it was always in relation to the church that met there (Romans 16:5; 1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 4:15; Philemon 1:2). The church is the people, not the building. Local churches are gatherings of people who claim the name of Christ. The local church is where believers can fully apply the “body” principles of 1 Corinthians chapter 12—encouraging, teaching, and building one another up in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
On Thursday evenings from 7pm we welcome anyone to pop in for some Christian fellowship. Whatever stage you are at in your life, from non-believer to mature Christian you will always be welcome. The evening is very informal but will usually follow a very loose order which includes catching up with folks on the past week over drinks (and the obligatory cakes!), a bible focused discussion and some prayer time. There is absolutely no obligation to contribute, often just listening to what is being discussed and prayed for is most rewarding. We have a WhatsApp group where details of the upcoming meeting will be posted (let me know if you want to be included in the group), however, there is no requirement to know in advance the details.
The support of other Christians in your walk with Christ is so important. Jesus asks us to take up our cross daily; however, God does not expect us do do it alone. Opening up our home on a Thursday evening provides great blessing to me and my family and is our way of giving others the opportunity, if it's needed, to share the blessing that Christian fellowship brings.
